Craig Edwards - Operations Director
Craig has 20 years of security and management experience and his broad, hands-on approach has enabled him to communicate specific corporate visions, values and strategies to a wide range of working environments.
Craig has played an integral role in providing safe and secure environments for venues ranging from small executive functions through to larger scale high profile events such as:
- The Sydney Darling Harbour Complex
- 2000 Sydney Olympic Games
- Sydney Royal Easter Show
- The Big Day Out
For 14 years, Craig played a major role in security at the Sydney Royal Easter Show, which is the sixth largest event in the world and the single largest event in Australia held over a 2 week period. The key areas of his responsibilities included managing the security and ground operations and the emergency-planning infrastructure. The Show attracts over one million visitors each year and involves the coordination of all visitors, over 35,000 livestock and animal exhibits, in excess of 500 commercial exhibitors as well as large entertainment and carnival areas.
Craig also played an integral role during the Sydney 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games by being involved in all areas of site security and emergency management. Craig liaised closely with the Sydney Olympic Park Authority, Olympic Security Command and the Australian Defence Force, and was involved with operational and security issues across the entire Olympic Precinct.
While in the Australian Defence Force, Craig gained extensive experience in leadership, team management and development skills. The knowledge and experience gained in the Defence Force created an excellent platform and solid foundation upon which he was able to transfer his skills and develop expertise in the security and event management arenas.
Craig also has vast experience in overseeing all occupational health and safety policies, procedures and regulations. This includes risk management strategies, procedures for safety, implementation of crisis and emergency plans and training. |
