Unity Resources Group (URG), AEP's parent company, was established in 2000 to provide consulting, training and critical support services to companies operating in volatile environments, such as in Iraq.

URG has become a significant security provider in this highly specialised area.

The lion's share of URG's clients require specialist security services that fall outside the parameters of everyday security. An example is the provision of instructors to train journalists how to minimise risks in hostile environments (such as Afghanistan and Iraq) as part of the Global Risk Awareness & Safety Program (GRASP).
